Marigold Tower Lifts

Know Our Lifts

MARIGOLD TOWER Lift Specifications:

  • We have a total of 6 lifts, 3 lifts per wing.

  • Each wing has 1 service lift and 2 passenger lifts.

  • The service lifts offer more space and higher lifting capacity than passenger lift.

  • All lifts are equipped with high-speed drives, allowing them to travel at a speed of 1.57 meters per second.

  • These 6 lifts serve 20 floors, including 18 upper floors, B1 and the ground floor (G).

Passenger lifts:

  • Each wing is equipped with 2 passenger lifts.

  • These passenger lifts have smaller dimensions and lesser capacity compared to the service lifts.

  • The 2 passenger lifts in each wing are interconnected.

  • When you tap on any Landing Operating Panel (LOP), your request is queued. An internal algorithm determines which lift will serve your request, based on factors like the floor, moving direction, and Car Operating Panel (COP) commands inside the lift cars.

  • The passenger lifts travel at a speed of 1.57 meters per second.

  • Their maximum capacity is 12 persons or up to 1020 kg of weight.

Service lifts:

  • Each wing is equipped with 1 service lift.

  • The service lifts have slightly larger dimensions and higher lifting capacity compared to passenger lifts.

  • The service lifts operate independently of the passenger lifts.

  • The service lifts also travel at a speed of 1.57 meters per second.

  • Their maximum capacity is up to 16 persons or 1088 kg of weight.

Landing Operating Panel (LOP):

  • Landing Operating Panels (LOPs) are located outside lifts on the lift shaft walls.

  • Each floor has 3 LOPs: 2 for passenger lifts and 1 for the service lift.

  • Except for the ground floor and the 18th floor, our LOPs have only two buttons: UP and DOWN. The ground floor LOP lacks a DOWN button, and the 18th floor LOP lacks an UP button.

  • These LOPs also have indicators for UP and DOWN triangles, floor numbers, and a maintenance mode symbol.

  • The UP triangle indicates that the specific lift is currently moving up, while the DOWN triangle indicates the lift is moving down. The floor number denotes the current floor of the lift.

  • A dash (-) or minus indicator signifies that the lift is in maintenance mode and is not usable.

  • Always Tap the button corresponding to the direction you wish to go.

Car Operating Panel (COP):

  • Car Operating Panels (COPs) are located inside the lift cars.

  • Each lift car has one Car Operating Panel (COP).

  • All COPs include the following buttons and indicators:

a. Floor buttons: To select the floor you wish to go.

b. Emergency call button (Bell button): For external assistance at any time.

c. Door close button [ >|< ]: To close the door.

d. Door open button [ <|> ]: To open the doors.

e. Fan on/off button: To operate the fans.

f. Floor number indicator: Indicates the current floor.

g. ARD indicator: Lights up when the ARD is enabled.

h. Voice announcement: Announces the current floor the lift has stopped at.

  • You can also hold the door open button to keep the doors open.

  • Pressing the emergency button will ring the intercom at the ground floor, and our facilities management staff are instructed to respond immediately.

  • Other buttons are self-explanatory.

Automatic Rescue Device (ARD):

  • Our lifts are equipped with Automatic Rescue Devices (ARD).

  • The ARD takes control whenever there is a power loss while the lift is moving.

  • ARDs have their own batteries, allowing them to operate without external power.

  • Our lift brakes are always in an engaged state and disengage only when the lift car needs to move, enhancing safety by preventing accidental release.

  • In the event of a power loss, the brakes automatically engage, stopping the lift car abruptly.

  • When power is lost, you may hear two sounds: a screeching sound from the brake engagement and a metal clanging sound from the counterweights. These sounds are normal and not cause for alarm.

  • After 10 seconds, the ARD gradually disengages the brakes, allowing the lift car to move up or down based on the load, aided by the counterweight.

  • The ARD monitors the car's movement, and once it reaches the next floor (either one floor up or down, depending on the load), it engages the brake and opens the floor and lift car doors.

  • The ARD keeps the doors open for 15 to 30 seconds to allow everyone to exit safely and then closes the doors.

  • This entire operation is performed by the ARD, powered by its batteries.

  • Once power is restored, the main controller takes over, resetting the lift by moving the car to either the topmost floor or the lowest floor.

  • You can always call for external help by pressing the BELL symbol on the Car Operating Panel (COP).

  • This triggers the intercom at the ground floor, where our security, technician, or facilities management staff will promptly communicate with you over the intercom.

General Guidelines

  • Always tap the button on the LOP corresponding to the direction you wish to go.

  • Note the indicator on the LOP and board the lift moving in your desired direction.

  • If you enter a lift going in the opposite direction and press a floor number opposite to the lift's direction, your request will be registered in the queue. Your floor selection will only be completed when the lift returns to your direction after fulfilling previous requests, which can waste your time and test your patience.

  • There is no need to tap the buttons more than once. Once registered, the button turns pink from blue, and a lift will come to your floor. Repeated tapping is unnecessary.

  • Tap and hold the door open button to keep the doors open instead of holding the doors with your hands.

  • If you are alone and carrying luggage, place a small object like footwear or a bag on the lift rails to keep the doors open until you remove the object, allowing stress-free loading or unloading.

  • Note: In this situation, do not press any floor numbers before loading/unloading your luggage. If pressed, the lift will attempt to close the doors several times despite the object on the rails, but the doors will open again once they touch the object. Do not panic.

  • Once inside, select your floor as soon as possible or at least 3 floors before the lift reaches your floor. If you delay, the lift may skip your floor on that trip and stop only on the next or returning trip.

  • Lift Intercom: The intercoms inside the lift are half-duplex, meaning only one side can talk at a time. When seeking assistance, wait for the external person to finish speaking before you respond.

  • Do not be alarmed by sounds during power-off scenarios. You can always contact an external person through the lift intercom or your mobile phone if there is sufficient signal.

  • Emergency numbers are displayed in all the lifts.

  • Avoid littering and spillage to help keep the lifts clean and tidy. If you notice any, inform the helpdesk.

  • Be aware of CCTV cameras inside the lifts, recording 24x7 for security and safety reasons.

  • Read the DOs and DON'Ts displayed in the lifts.

Safety Guidelines

  • Avoid using passenger lifts to carry pets. Unintended and unexpected urination by pets has caused sensor issues in the past, leading to safety concerns for residents using that lift. Damages of this kind are not covered under AMC, resulting in unwanted expenses.

  • Avoid leaning on the lift car walls. Rails on the left and right sides of the lift are precisely fixed to prevent wobbling during movement. Leaning on the walls exerts pressure on the side walls, increasing friction on the external rails. This can sometimes change the lift car plane, causing the floor sensors to miss signals and compromising passenger safety.

  • Avoid carrying bicycles in the passenger lift. Due to the smaller dimensions of passenger lifts, larger bicycles need to be cramped in, resulting in the same effect and risk as leaning on the walls.

  • Keeping objects against the door walls also results in the same effect and risk as above.

  • Avoid playing or jumping inside the lift cars. Even though our lifts are equipped with suspensions to dampen vibrations, excessive movement can affect the drive, associated pulleys, and sensors.

  • Do not lean on the lift doors for any reason. The doors are the weakest part of the lift car due to their movable parts and sensors.

  • Do not spill any liquids inside the lifts and report any spillages immediately to the help desk. If liquids flow near the lift doors, they can damage the sensor circuitry at the floors and lift doors.

  • Read the DOs and DON'Ts displayed in the lifts.

  • These guidelines are designed to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our lift system.
